How to get to MetLife Stadium by train

For events with more than about 50,000 fans, NJ Transit runs the Meadowlands Rail Line to the Sports Complex (Meadowlands) station, right at the stadium:

  1. From New York Penn Station or elsewhere in New Jersey, take NJ Transit to Secaucus Junction.
  2. Change to the Meadowlands train. The ride to the stadium takes about 10 minutes.
  3. After the event, leave through the MetLife Gate or Verizon Gate to reach the train.

Trains start a few hours before the event and run for a couple of hours after it ends. Expect long, managed queues for the return trip. Check NJ Transit’s Meadowlands page for fares and times.

Bus from Manhattan (Port Authority)

Coach USA’s 351 Meadowlands Express runs from the Port Authority Bus Terminal for NFL games and major events. Buses start about 2.5 hours before the event, stop running about 30 minutes after it starts, and return for about an hour after it ends. They drop off and pick up in Lot K, near the MetLife Gate.

MetLife Stadium parking

  • For NFL games and major concerts, parking is prepaid and cashless. Cars without a valid digital permit can be turned away.
  • Buy permits through MetLife Stadium’s official parking portal or the ticketing platform for your event.
  • Leaving the Meadowlands after a sold-out event can take a long time. The train is often faster.

Uber and Lyft

Rideshare pick-up and drop-off use designated lots that can change by event. Follow the directions in your app and on-site signs, and expect surge pricing and long waits right after the event.

MetLife Stadium bag policy

  • Allowed: one clear bag up to 12″ × 6″ × 12″ (or a one-gallon clear freezer bag), plus a small clutch about 4.5″ × 6.5″.
  • Not allowed: backpacks, large purses, camera bags and coolers.
  • A bag check facility is available. It has been free for NFL games and charges a small fee per item for other events.

Payments

MetLife Stadium is cashless. Credit cards, debit cards and mobile payments are accepted throughout.
