Arun Jaitley Stadium Delhi: The Ultimate Fan Guide to Entry, Parking & Metro

The Arun Jaitley Stadium (formerly Feroz Shah Kotla) in Delhi is the historic home of the Delhi Capitals (DC). Located at the busy ITO intersection, this stadium has unique rules compared to other IPL 2026 venues—most notably the requirement for Physical Tickets.

At easyguideindia.in, we’ve updated this guide with the latest 2026 security and transport protocols to ensure you don’t miss a single ball.

📢 Match Day Alert: For all IPL 2026 matches in Delhi, gates typically open 3 hours before the start. Expect heavy traffic on Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg and JLN Marg from 4:00 PM onwards.

1. The Physical Ticket Rule (Critical)

Unlike Wankhede or Eden Gardens, Arun Jaitley Stadium does not allow entry via mobile QR codes.

  • Pickup Location: You must collect your physical tickets from the designated Box Office (usually at Raja Ram Mohun Roy Memorial Hall, ITO) at least 24 hours before the match.
  • Requirements: Carry your e-ticket confirmation and a government ID. If you forget your physical ID, the Official DigiLocker App is accepted for verification.
  • Lost IDs: If you lose your ID, you can verify your details via your Aadhaar Update Status online.

2. How to Reach: Delhi Metro Guide

The Delhi Metro is the fastest way to reach the stadium.

  • Nearest Station: ITO Metro Station (Violet Line). Gate No. 5 is just a 5-minute walk from the stadium.
  • Alternative Station: Delhi Gate Metro Station (Violet Line) is also very close.
  • Metro Timings: On match days, DMRC usually extends the last train timings by 30-45 minutes.
  • Payment: Use UPI at Metro kiosks to avoid long lines. If you are new to this, check our UPI Setup Guide.

3. Parking & FASTag Information

There is No Public Parking inside the stadium premises.

  • Designated Parking Hubs: Free parking is usually available at Mata Sundari Road, Rajghat Power House Road, and Velodrome Road.
  • Park & Ride: Shuttle buses (Park & Ride) operate from these lots starting 2 hours before the match.
  • FASTag: These lots are now FASTag-integrated. Ensure you Check your FASTag Balance before leaving to avoid the “Double Cash” penalty at the entry.

4. Prohibited Items (Strict Checklist)

Delhi Police is extremely strict about these items. Do NOT carry:

  • Electronics: Power banks, professional cameras, and AirPods.
  • Personal Items: Helmets, lighters, matchboxes, and metal coins.
  • Bags: No backpacks or large handbags. Only small ladies’ purses (max 7×4 inches) are allowed.
  • Food/Water: Outside eatables and water bottles are strictly banned. Free RO water is provided inside.

Fantasy Tip: If you win big in the DC vs GT mega-contest or any other match, remember that winnings are subject to 30% tax. Read our IPL 2026 Fantasy Cricket Tax Guide.
