How to Check FASTag Balance Online
FASTag toll payments fail, and you may be charged double, if your tag balance is low. Here are the quickest ways to check your FASTag balance, depending on which bank issued your tag.
Ways to check FASTag balance
- Your issuer bank’s app or website: log in to the FASTag section of the bank that issued your tag (for example SBI, HDFC, ICICI or Axis) to see the balance and toll history.
- Payment apps: many UPI apps show FASTag balance when you add your vehicle number under FASTag recharge.
- SMS alerts: after every toll deduction you get an SMS with the remaining balance.
- NHAI’s My FASTag app, and some banks’ missed-call or SMS services (check your bank’s FASTag page for its number).
How to recharge
Recharge through your issuer bank’s FASTag portal, or through UPI and payment apps using your vehicle number. Keep the balance above your bank’s minimum, if it sets one.
Important FASTag rules
- Complete your FASTag KYC with your issuer, as tags without updated KYC can be deactivated.
- One vehicle, one FASTag. Older tags on the same vehicle may be blacklisted.
- For FASTag problems, contact your issuer bank or the NHAI helpline 1033.
Frequently asked questions
What happens if my FASTag balance is low at a toll plaza?
If the payment fails, you may have to pay a higher toll in cash or by other means as per current rules. Keep your tag funded before a trip.
