How to Download Electricity Bill Online
Your electricity bill comes from your state’s electricity distribution company (DISCOM), and almost every DISCOM lets you view and download bills online with your consumer / account number. You can also fetch and pay bills in UPI and banking apps through Bharat BillPay (BBPS).
Method 1: Your DISCOM’s website or app
- Open your electricity provider’s official website or app. The company name is printed on your bill.
- Choose View / Download Bill or Quick Bill.
- Enter your consumer number (also called CA number, service number or account ID) and any other detail asked, such as your district or the captcha.
- Download the bill PDF or print it.
Method 2: UPI and banking apps (Bharat BillPay)
- Open your UPI or banking app and go to Bill Payments → Electricity.
- Choose your DISCOM and enter your consumer number.
- The app fetches your latest bill amount and due date. Many apps let you view or download the bill details, and the payment receipt serves as proof of payment.

It’s printed at the top of your electricity bill, usually labelled Consumer No., CA No., Service Connection No. or Account ID.
Can an electricity bill be used as address proof?
Yes. Recent electricity bills are widely accepted as proof of address (for example for Aadhaar), usually if they’re not older than about 3 months.
