How to reach Uppal Stadium

Take the Hyderabad Metro Blue Line to Stadium station, next to the ground. Traffic police strongly recommend the metro and TGSRTC buses on match days, as heavy vehicles are diverted and roads around Uppal get congested.

Parking at Uppal Stadium

Traffic police have designated four public parking areas within about 500 metres of the stadium:

  • On the Uppal X Roads–Habsiguda side: Penguin and TGIALA grounds
  • On the Uppal X Roads–Ramanthapur side: the open space at DSL (opposite NSL building) and Modern Bakery

Parking inside the stadium is only for VIP/VVIP pass holders. Don’t park on the main road or under the metro, as vehicles are towed and fined.

Entry rules

  • Gates open three hours before the start.
  • For IPL 2026, digital tickets were mandatory. Keep your ticket ready in the app.
  • Seats are pre-assigned, so sit in your allotted seat.
  • There’s no cloakroom. Banned items are confiscated at the gate and not returned.

  1. This is a incredibly timely guide, especially regarding the heavy traffic in the Uppal area during match days, which is a major concern for locals and tourists alike. I particularly appreciate the clarification on the specific gate layouts, as knowing in advance that Gates 3 & 4 are for VIPs helps avoid the chaos at the main entrances. Having this kind of logistical breakdown makes planning a visit to the orange wave so much less stressful.
