PAN Card Reprint Online: How to Get a Lost or Damaged PAN Card

Last reviewed on · By Easy Guide India Editorial Team

Lost or damaged your PAN card? If your details are correct, you don’t need to apply again. Just order a reprint of the same PAN, and it’s posted to your address. You can also download the e-PAN instantly in the meantime.

Reprint vs correction

  • Reprint: same details, new physical card. Use this if the card is lost or damaged.
  • Correction / change: if any detail (name, date of birth, photo, signature, address) needs changing, apply for “Changes or Correction in PAN data” instead. See updating PAN photo and signature.

How to order a PAN card reprint

  1. Find out which agency issued your PAN (Protean/NSDL or UTIITSL). It’s printed on the back of older cards, or check the e-PAN.
  2. Open that agency’s Reprint of PAN Card page (Protean and UTIITSL both offer it online).
  3. Enter your PAN, Aadhaar (for individuals) and date of birth.
  4. Verify with the OTP on your registered mobile or email.
  5. Pay the reprint fee (around ₹50 for delivery in India).
  6. Note the acknowledgement number. The card is dispatched by post, usually within a couple of weeks.

Frequently asked questions

Can I get a reprint if my address has changed?

The reprint goes to the address in the PAN records. If you’ve moved, apply for a change of address in PAN data instead.

Do I need to file a police complaint for a lost PAN card?

It isn’t required for a reprint. But if you suspect misuse, report it.
