Forgot your debit card (ATM) PIN, or want to change it? You don’t usually need to visit the branch. You can set a new PIN through your bank’s app, net banking or at an ATM using an OTP on your registered mobile.
Method 1: Bank app or net banking
- Log in to your bank’s official app or net banking.
- Go to Cards → Debit Card → Set / Reset PIN (the name varies by bank).
- Select your card and verify with the OTP sent to your registered mobile.
- Enter and confirm the new 4-digit PIN.
Method 2: At your bank’s ATM (Green PIN)
- Insert your card at your own bank’s ATM.
- Choose PIN Generation / Forgot PIN / Green PIN.
- Enter your registered mobile number or account number as asked, then the OTP you receive.
- Set the new PIN.
Method 3: Phone banking
Many banks let you generate a PIN via the customer care IVR with your registered mobile. Call the number on the back of your card.
PIN safety tips
- Don’t use your birth year or 1234.
- Cover the keypad when entering your PIN.
- No bank employee will ever ask for your PIN.
